When I was 29 years old I hit rock bottom with my health. I had spent the previous 12 years or so, dealing with various health problems. Consequently, I had been diagnosed and treated with many different "ailments". Among the diagnoses that I received were anemia, gastritis, esophageal reflux, spastic colon, polyps in my bladder, endometriosis, cysts on my ovaries and mitral valve prolapse. I also experienced severe migraine headaches (complete with vision disturbances, numbness down my left side & horrible pain), a major candida yeast overgrowth problem, chronic fatigue and chronic pain.

With each diagnosis and treatment, I found myself still dealing with the same symptoms. Because I knew of nothing else to do, I continued searching through the medical avenues for the answers I desperately needed to be well and to feel better. Unfortunately, my search continued to leave me frustrated and with time my symptoms became worse and worse.

I finally reached a point in my life where I was no longer able to function. After hitting "rock bottom" I cried out to the Lord. Now that I knew that I could do nothing for myself (I had tried EVERYTHING that I knew to do) I called on the Lord with a short, simple, releasing prayer and asked him the only thing that my own worldly wisdom knew to ask. I asked the Lord to find me a doctor that could help me.

There are two especially interesting things that I know now about what I asked the Lord in my prayer. One is of course, that the Lord is the Great Physician and He is the author of health and healing. The other is that the word "doctor" means "teacher". The Lord answered my prayer!

I soon began a journey where I started to learn about the Lord's provisions for my health. He also began to teach me that the reason the medical avenue held no answers to my health questions was because my problems were not medical, they were nutritional. He began to show me that he had a plan that concerned my health and that if I followed His plan I would experience health instead of sickness. As I applied the principles that He was teaching me I began to get well for the first time in over 12 years.
