Additional Tips

Chia Seeds are a complete protein source (all essential amino acids).  They offer 4.4 grams of complete protein in just 1 oz. They also are a good source of omega 3 essential fatty acids. Good for bone health . . . . 18% of RDA of calcium per ounce, 27% RDA of phosphorous per ounce, and 30% of RDA of manganese per ounce. Very rich in antioxidants. Rich in other minerals such as zinc as well as various vitamins. Good source of dietary fiber. Makes smoothies creamier and adds LOTS of nutritional value!

Brazil nuts are packed full of nutrition as well and are a tremendous NATURAL source of selenium . . . just one brazil nut contains more than 100% of the RDA for selenium (offers  antioxidant free-radical protection).

One ounce of raw almonds contains 12 percent of your recommended daily value of protein (and no cholesterol, of course). Also, in an ounce of almonds you get 35 percent of your recommended daily value of vitamin E, an important antioxidant with many cancer-fighting qualities. Most of the fat in almonds is monounsaturated, also known as the "good" fat.  Almonds are loaded with minerals like magnesium, phosphorus and zinc, as well as lots of healthy fiber. And don't forget calcium and folic acid - they're in there too!  Almonds . . another great "super-food"!
