Monday = Juice Fast day!

Today I've been enjoying my weekly juice fast day.  Each week (generally on Monday) I take a day where I drink only freshly made juices and eat no solid food.  Today I had quite a variety of juice . . .  carrot/apple/ginger; carrot/apple/kale/lemon, fresh orange juice & coconut water.   Most of the time I have a couple of different varieties of juice on a given day, but we had some young coconuts and extra oranges that needed to be used up.  :)  I love fresh orange juice but don't drink it regularly, which makes it a wonderful treat.  I REALLY  love young coconut water, but because I have been using it in my green smoothies, I don't usually drink much of it all by itself.  All in all, it has been an extra yummy day!

Juice fasting is a way to rest digestion, while at the same time increasing the intake of some amazing health building nutrients.  It's not for everyone, and I always encourage folks that are interested to get educated before giving it a try, but fasting (especially juice fasting with freshly made juices) can be a wonderful tool in the tool box of methods for enhancing the body's God-given ability to rebuild and heal!  My own personal experience with juice fasting has been amazing and I think of it as just another blessing that has come my way in life . . .
